Art Marker Techniques: Creating a new colour using 2 colours
Different colours of Spectrum Noir art marker can be mixed together to create a completely new hue.
The translucent quality of the alcohol dye in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers means each colour will show through and visually merge to produce something new. While the rapid evaporation of the alcohol-base preserves the clarity of each component without muddying.
Here’s a simple video guide to get you started in mixing colours to create your own customised palette.
- First, apply your first colour and wait for it to dry.
- Layer the second colour on top.
It’s that straightforward. We recommend swatching your colour combinations onto a sheet of marker paper before using in your artworks. Grab your favourite Classique or Illustrator Marker and start experimenting with colour mixing using alcohol markers.
