This tutorial will share how colour directly onto stamps using Spectrum Noir Aqua watercolour markers.
This is a simple yet stunning technique.
Trim a piece of watercolour card stock to 4 x 5.25. Align stamp as to where it will be stamped on the card stock.
Use a stamp position-er to stamping tool to align the stamp and cardstock. The same image will be stamped multiple times, so it is important to be able to align the stamp and stamp in the same exact spot for each impression.
Dip a paintbrush in water and lightly brush it over the card stock. This is called a wash.
The paper should be damp, but not soaking wet.
Color directly onto the stamp using Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers Terracotta, Yellow and Orange.
Spritz the stamp with water.
Do not add a lot of water; it should only be a light spray.
Just to spread the colours together and loosen them up so they stamp cleanly.
Stamp it onto the card stock.
Repeat this step 3-4 times, or as needed.
Once it is fully dry, add additional stamping to the panel.
Stamp the leaf image in black ink, then the sentiment in VersaMark watercolour ink.
Heat emboss the sentiment in gold.
Use foam squares or cut a panel of foam adhesive for the back. If foam squares are used, make sure to use several, placing them around all edges and the center as watercolour card stock can be heavier than normal stock and it can have the tendency to warp or curl.
To finish off the card, use the same colours as previously used (Terracotta, Yellow and Orange).
Scribble them on an acrylic block, then pick up the colour with a waterbrush and flick it on the panel.
Assemble to a card base created from Black Pearl Shimmering card stock (trimmed to 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5).
