I wanted to show you a tutorial on how to create a fun and easy winter backgrounds for all your Christmas cards. Of course, if you change the colors, you can use this tutorial for any season during the year.
For this tutorial you will need:
- AquaTint Inks – 02, 05, 07, 53 and 56
- Watercolor paper
- Acetate sheet
- A set of winter stamps with snowflakes
- A set of winter sentiments
- Snowflakes die
Put a few drops on the acetate sheet. Don’t add too much or otherwise they will blend and you will not see all the beautiful colors. After that, place the acetate directly on your sheet and press with your fingers.
Step 2: Repeat the same process until you like the background. Then cut your paper to fit onto your card base.
Step 3: Place your snowflake stamp on a clear block and add a white Aqua Tint ink with your brush. Then stamp it onto your paper and repeat the process until you cover your background.
Step 4: Stamp your sentiment, cut it with a circle die cut and place it on a snowflake shape. If you want, you can add a little bit of shine with a glitter of your choice.
I loved this tutorial so much that I decided to make two cards. I will definitely use it a lot for my upcoming winter cards. I hope you will give it a try as well.
